I purchased this beauty a few months ago but was unable to pick it up until today. Now I have several decisions to make regarding this piece: (1) Where to put it?, (2) What to store in the drawers? I'm a sketcher. I think I've sketched out the interior decor of every apartment & house I have ever lived in. My sb room is no exception. In the first sketch the file cabinet is placed between the two bookshelves. The goal would then be to make that my stamping area. I would store inks and my WM stamps in the drawers.
I already have the black table top. It simply needs to be trimmed to fit the space. Along side the metal file cabinet I would place wooden shelves or cubes for additional decorative storage space. 
In the second sketch the metal file cabinet is placed inside the closet. However, I want to store my Scrap Rack inside the closet on a rolling rack. If the cabinet is inside the closet and used for stamping it may make it difficult to pull out the Scrap Rack. For this reason I am favoring sketch #1. Either option is going to require much work. :-)

I like the metal cabinet between the shelves! Your idea of the storage baskets on either side will really soften the look.
Why hid this beauty in the closet? I love your sketches. They look so professional but artsy. You must scrap them with pics of your new room organization.
I am glad you ladies both like the file cabinet in the room rather than in the closet. I keep going back and forth on this. I love the metal cabinet but it seems to clash with the wood tones in the room which are black and cherry wood.
