Project 365

I thought it appropriate to post this picture today on the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing. I took this photo last week of the Space Shuttle Endeavour on the launching pad just before lightning struck the craft. Fortunately NASA was finally able to safely launch the Space Shuttle a few days afterwards. Unfortunately for us the Endeavour took flight when we were at the airport ready to board the plane home! :-(

Now back here on earth . . . Houston we have a problem. The beautiful little island I recently purchased is a little too unstable. I thought perhaps we assembled it incorrectly. However, I found a floor model at a different store and it was just as unstable as the piece we assembled at home. Luckily the store is offering a refund even though the island has been assembled. So if we cannot find a way to stabilize the island I am going to have to return it. Oh well . . . I would just bring back the round table and continue my search. Sigh!

Happy Father's Day

I love this photo of DH & DS recently taken at a family event. DS seems busy explaining something important to his father who lovingly looks on. I especially luv DS's briefcase!

Looking at this picture I am reminded of just how blessed I am to have these two great men in my life. I have a loving & supportive husband and equally loving son. For this I am grateful! If you are blessed to still have your father around . . . give him an extra big hug today from all of us whose dad have passed on!

Happy Father's Day!

Home again . . .

This morning I returned home after a FABULOUS girls' only weekend in San Francisco. It was glorious! We visited the typical tourist sites such as; Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown. Although we did several tours on one of those infamous double decker buses we mainly walked everywhere. My feet where quite sore by the end of the day but it was ALL worth it! My favorite meal was the Pasta Jambalaya from the Buena Vista Cafe . They also serve an awesome Irish Coffee. My favorite tour . . . I would have to say Alcatraz. The only thing I regret was not finding a LSS. :-( Unfortunately after four fabulous days of sunshine and 60 degree weather I was greeted by snow upon my arrival home. :-( Will spring ever get here??

Project 365

I have decided to participate in Project 365 . What is a Project 365? In short, the project is about taking at least one picture of your every day life for one year. The point is to broaden our perspective. Instead of just photographing and scrapping only important events in our lives, through this project we try to create a photographic journal of our everyday lives.

Although I don't plan to take a photo everyday my perspective of what is photo 'worthy' has certainly changed. Here is my first contribution to Project 365 . This is a picture of our local Parent Map publication with almost every single Kindergarten school crossed off! I have a spirited 5 yr old little boy who is high energy and intense but not ADHD. So we need a school that incorporates lots of movement into its daily curriculum. Not an easy task I assure you but I am confident we will find the school that best fits his social and academic needs.

Not a great start to the new year!

Not a great way to ring in the new year with a messy scrapbook room. :-( All of this mess was created trying to make a few of the TH tags and a desktop calender. Geez! Good thing I'm participating in a few online challenges where the focus is to clean, purge and organize your scrapbook room. Hope the new year proves to be more productive and better organized!
