Deck the Halls . . . in August . . . really???

I made this little tag for a Christmas in August challenge.  I purchased this stamp a few years ago and have never used it until now. I generally don't do cutesy so I've had some trouble incorporating this stamp into my LOs. But for this challenge I decided it was time I give it a try. I used some water color crayons to color the images, stickles and liquid pearls to decorate the Christmas lights and stickers from Anna Griffin.

I can almost hear the little bear whistling the tune "Deck the Halls".  Can you?  LOL

As always, thanks for stopping by . . .

Use your paper scraps challenge . . .

As part of our effort to purge and organize our sb room, our Scrapbookingroom Yahoo group has taken on several organizational challenges this year. We are currently tackling that much dreaded problem we probably all have with the paper scraps. Personally I keep my scraps in an accordion file organized by colors. In order to keep the stash under 'some' control, I no longer save regular cardstock smaller than 4x6. You'd be amazed how much that simple rule has helped.

Another way to control the stash is to simply use it, obviously. So in addition to organizing and purging the paper scraps I've challenged the ladies to use the scraps to make a paper creation for a swap. This is a 1:1 swap of either a card, an ATC, a doll or a tag. The goal here is to use some of the scraps and have fun at the same time. Here are two of the tags I've created thus far. The top tag: chandalier from Impress Rubber Stamps and french script background stamp from SU. Bottom tag: Paper from SU and that gorgeous stamp is from The Angel Company. TFL!

More 12 days of Christmas tags

Continuing with some of my favorite Tim Holtz 12 days of Christmas Tags here is my version of day #6. Tag was inspired by one of my favorite children's book, The Polar Express. I first heard about this book when I was pregnant to my son. That was almost five years ago and I've been reading the book to him ever since. The stamp is from The Angel Company

Side comment: Given all the supplies needed to make some of these tags, I am convinced that Tim Holtz has a condo somewhere in Maui thanks to me. It's a racket but I keep on buying! Maybe one of the days he will let me use the condo I bought for him. LOL. As always, TFL!

Tim Holtz 12 days of Christmas Tags

If you are an admirer of Tim Holtz artwork then I am sure you are loving this year's 12 Days of Christmas Tags. Here is tag inspired by my favorite tag thus far . . . Day #5. I am not one to boast about my work, especially something I've cased, but I have to say that this is THE most elegant tag I've ever made.

Supplies. For the deer I used the red cardstock from Club Scrap and Joys of the Season Cricut cartridge. The flourish is TH grundgeboard and for Noel I used QK's Revolution Washington Grand Alphabet . Background color is Avocado dip, french script stamp from Stampin' Up and flourish stamp from Stampers Anonymous . TFL!
